  • Yes, actual guidance on what you should do during these moments, so you don’t get flooded!

  • Dealing with a parent who has borderline and/or narcissistic personality disorder IS NOT the same as dealing with a parent that doesn’t. These are tips to help you because this situation is so complicated.

  • I share options for what to do after these interactions and in general to help you deal with your BPD/NPD Parent without losing your mind.

Meet Coach and Psychotherapist,

Torie Wiksell

I specialize in working with the adult children of parents who have borderline personality disorder (BPD) and narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) in both my psychotherapy private practice and my coaching business. I’ve also spent a huge portion of my decade-long career as a therapist working directly with clients with personality disorders.

I know how chaotic and stressful it is to grow up with a BPD or NPD parent because, like you, I grew up with a parent who had an unmanaged personality disorder. The phrase, walking on eggshells, definitely fits, but doesn’t fully explain the intensely complicated, stressful, and confusing dynamics.

Growing up in a family like this probably made you feel crazy at times- I know I certainly did. But you don’t have to accept that as the best things can ever be!

I’ve survived a dysfunctional family system, I’ve walked through my own healing in many years of therapy (which I still do- this is not an anti-therapy website!), I’ve studied and learned and trained in this area, and I’ve committed to a career of helping people just like you navigate their complicated relationship with a BPD or NPD parent.

Trying to figure it all out on your own is not only exhausting and time-consuming, but not matter how much research you do, it often still feels impossible. I’m here to tell you it’s completely possible to take back control of your life, and I’m super excited to help you figure it out!
